1983--My Giant Pile Of Junk period. I did 3 or 4 pieces like this and a couple paintings. It was a phase--Fortunately it passed or, at least, changed into something a little more focused.

For years I've wanted to take a stab at drawing Wilbur Whateley from Lovecraft's THE DUNWICH HORROR. I didn't try to make him look goofy but sometimes (for me at least) working from Lovecraft's descriptions can be... Tricky.
