This is happening-- If you're in NYC come and see me at the Society of Illustrators-- I'll be there (probably hanging out at the bar) March 23rd.

The upcoming PINOCCHIO show at NYC SOI -- Along with 11 full page ills and like 45 spot ills there will 4 paintings done just for the show (not in the book) and a bunch of sketchbook pages. Also a very special surprise that I can't talk about--But it's stunning!

As the first full-length Hellboy comic was published 29 years ago this week I thought I'd post some lesser known Hellboy curiosities--

Happy Birthday to the great Will Eisner. I was lucky enough to hang out with Will a couple times but never saw him draw--I've never seen a piece where it looks like he struggled at all. It looks like the stuff just flowed out of him like water. Amazing. One of the very best.

A quiet one to close out the night--Not Hellboy but this week is Abe Sapiens 29th Birthday too. This is an unused version of the first Abe Trade Paperback--I self rejected and and now can't figure out why as I like it much better than the one we used. Oh well...
