despite joseph being visibly injured, (even though he isn't consistently drawn with his wounds) joseph chooses to quite violently break his own hand to give wamuu his blood. bleeding so much from the hand, not to mention from a blunt injury, is honestly wild in of itself. and yet

and after all these injuries, and his exhaustion, he still offers to fight kars instead of lisa lisa, without giving himself time to rest. in fact, his exhaustion becomes a whole point of focus, when he has to rush up and fight kars anyway.

after kars becomes immortal, joseph- once again, despite all his injuries and exhaustion,- has to run off once more. In the plane, after he is reduced to having only one parachute, he uses it to make a dummy and resolves himself to dying, in order to defeat kars.
