A few more! These were all done pretty early in production, feeling out the style of the cinematic, working with the brilliant director Carlos Stevens.
4) Ok I kind of answered that. My favourite modern artists are Adrian Smith, Cynthia Sheppard and Jaime Jones (shown).
17) My biggest inspirations were games I played as a kid. Diablo, Warcraft 2, Half-Life, Dungeon Keeper, Warhammer, Magic, Shadowrun... I'd read the manuals religiously and copy the art, write stories in those worlds and make little RPGs for my sister to play.
I talk about character concept art with students all the time and made this quick guide for folio building - figured I would share it here too 🙏 Obviously it doesn't cover everything, but these are some good practices.

Mark Gibbons' Warhammer art had a profound effect on me as a child. You honestly can't beat this stuff 🙏
Hey can we talk about THIS OWL? Amazing work @WilHallett_art ❤️
I did a wee photobashing demo on stream tonight!
The brief for this was: "Show a perfectly ordinary house cat surrounded by the ghostly spiritual avatars of its past lives." My first approach was to do a slightly comedic take where they were all smooshed into a tiny room, forever watching this normal cat. I still love it.
True to my word, I'm going to paint the lovely @RahulKohli13 as a space marine. First up, a super loose doodle 🙏
