A while back I splurged on his art book and was super disappointed when it came and most the colors were so muddy, I wish they showed his black and white works/line works because they were just sublime, so much character in all these lines
A lot of his color works were really great when he's able to tone it down (first image) or make it limited palette (second image), but a lot of the painted ones were so saturated... I think the first two really show the uniqueness of his works while the third is more generic

Another thing about Austin Briggs' art I love: many artists tend to forget the subtleties in human expression The slight tilt of the head. The gestures of the hand. He captures all of it so so well Learning anatomy is easy - but mastering drawing organic human behavior? HARD
Last night I came to a realization that I would like to become one of those artists who draws really nice horses. And so, my horse art journey begins! Stroke by stroke I shall conquer the art of drawing these magnificent beasts.....!

I love Erté's art so so much
Just look at how full of character these expressions were... all of the shading and lines are so precise to the models he drew from as well, it's insane... the hands... like a more cartoony rockwell but still the art is grounded in semi realism, can't get enough of it
