Went to my first live costume figure drawing session today since before the pandemic! Hosted by Ready/Sketch/Go in LA Theme today was Dune - super fun, feels great working on my anatomy skills again Model: Mather Louth, everything drawn in Infinite Painter
God, drawing hands is SO hard… here are some studies I did today + some notes I took from popping in on one of Dave Zaboski's (Disney animator) art stream (he had some good advice on hands)
Hi..... I'm trying to get over my fear/perfectionism/embarrassment of posting art on here, so I'm going to start uploading a lot of old pieces I can find over the next while Here are some classic film illustrations I did + screenprinted myself, circa 2018
the time I drew this and captioned it with something like "me and the eastern fanartists halfway across the world bonding over shipping fictional characters without speaking each other's languages" https://t.co/28L5ObXf6k
Since we are talking about ship dynamics I wanted to show one of my favorite dynamics of all time
Also got the ok to share my original sketches/WIP before we changed direction I wanted to do something super complex but it did not fit the campaign, but I still like these sketches enough I thought I'd share what I originally wanted!
Another thing about Austin Briggs' art I love: many artists tend to forget the subtleties in human expression The slight tilt of the head. The gestures of the hand. He captures all of it so so well Learning anatomy is easy - but mastering drawing organic human behavior? HARD
Last night I came to a realization that I would like to become one of those artists who draws really nice horses. And so, my horse art journey begins! Stroke by stroke I shall conquer the art of drawing these magnificent beasts.....!
JUST LEARNED HOW TO MAKE BRUSHES FOR THE FIRST TIME. Feeling unstoppable.
Please understand my dilemma
I am still thinking about the ericofon
