The kid's quirk is Explosions by friction and he saw Bakugo at the sports festival and wants to fight him. Deku keeps acting bc he's Kacchan right now (there's also a school robot following him to check he acts like Bakugo)

The kid goes to a gym famous for its pro hero training, and while there, he was compared to Bakugo bc of the similarity of their quirks. So the only option to prove himself was to defeat him. Deku asks him if he wants to be a hero, the kid says he WILL be a hero.
