The kid's quirk is Explosions by friction and he saw Bakugo at the sports festival and wants to fight him. Deku keeps acting bc he's Kacchan right now (there's also a school robot following him to check he acts like Bakugo)
Iida: Kacchan wear the glasses! Bakugo: Don't wanna! Urarka: what about the engines? Iida: Kacchan, you drew Iida in the lottery and you have to be him! Bakugo: I REFUSE! And stop imitating Deku! Bakugo: I can't be anything but me. Sero: Imitation of Iida! ENGINE!
Deku notices the kid's event-only AM pin. He also has one, the only way to get it was to imitate AM in front of a staff member. They both realize they are AM fans. The kid says he admires AM bc he's strong and has flashy techniques.
