graphic novels are incredibly difficult and solitary work. However, getting to knowing that someday a book like this will be on a shelf, and people will have a chance to learn how to yell at someone in arabic makes it all worth it :')
Here are some of the concepts I pitched initially. Notaila Rashed was always described as joyous and noted for her adoration of children. People who loved her comics would say her stories never spoke down to readers, were never just a moral lesson. I started with those feelings.
I passed in all 300 pencilled pages of SQUIRE for copy editing last night. This book finally feels like it is actually possible to finish, and this is the mood
