Rough sketches: I came up with a loose design for the two main characters, but also wanted to treat the city they were in as a secret third character. I looked at a lot of heartbreaking war photojournalism of destroyed homes in Syria and Lebanon for the environment to feel right.
The Art Director picked her favorite, with clear notes. (I always forget to zoom in on characters!). If the previous sketches felt empty thats on purpose! Gotta give the designers room to put the title.
Glorious News - In order to come up with these grand scenes for SQUIRE I had to study everything from master paintings from 1800s, to the last Lebanese wedding I attended.
