The book contains too many early designs for Rikka and Akane (more on that later). So insead here's something more interesting! First, the more finalsed designs, but Akane's hair style is noticeablly different! The other is all the different proposed detailed eye designs! 👀

Now these are really cool! Early "storyboards" for key scenes drawn in comic panel form. Most of these are from a time when Akane still had long hair. The last one here is much later featuring the opening scene from Ep 1 with a monologue from Akane.

Finally, more comic style storyboards drawn by Akira Amemiya himself depicting THAT scene from Ep9. Again it's from way back when Akane had long hair and Rikka had short hair. Aside from that the final scene plays out pretty much the same way. (11/12)

The manga has mostly been SUPER close to the anime in how in presents stuff, but sometimes it has to change things for the medium. Can't show Yuta's eye's changing colour? BAM! Have Gridman's presence lingering like a spirit. Ngl, this version of the reveal gave me goosebumps.
