For those interested, here are the steps of the Apocalypse / Cable illustration. Fist: thumbnail. After doing some very loose doodles, I arrived to the one I liked (this is 5 x 7 cm or 2 x 3 inches, roughly)
Step 2: still rough, but more detail. Now I'm drawing on a larger scale. I'm just setting up the shapes and positions at this spot. You'll notice that stuff will move around a bit by the time the drawing is finished
Step 3: Despite drawing everything but the initial thumbail digitally, I still follow these sort of analogical steps, these would be the "pencils" stage
