Seeing hyper polished marvel and DC comics with a whole team of artists for every step of the pipeline made comics feel like an like an unattainable goal, like only PROS can make them, but growing up with books like these were like "wow! I could do that! I could make comics!"

All the webcomics I read in high school had that same feeling like "Wow! People make these! *I* could make these!" and that's what got me into making comics

When I was a kid even just reading about how to get books in front of people made me excited to make books, it demystified the process so much, like, this more than anything made me want to dig my hands in and make things because it was all so attainable.

I honestly believe part of the reason teenagers went ravenous for manga when it started becoming more widely available is if you look at a Marvel/DC comic it's like "how do you make that? I can't make that" but a lot of manga sparks that same "yeah! I could make that!" emotion
