Since I've seen some light confusion in the comments, let me just confirm: LAVENDER JACK's Johnny Summer is (1) a trans man and (2) a romantic interest for our hero. The narrative style for the series tends towards understatement, and I'd hate for this to get lost in translation.
Don't get me wrong, a lot of people knew Johnny was trans the minute they saw him way back in Season Two Part four, but I have enough humility as a writer and an artist not to blame people for not picking up what I've been trying to lay down.

@mr_oberts @mattsouthworth Totally! JSA ALL-STARS #3, this anthology JSA book from the early 00s. The main story was about the modern version, with a backup set in the golden age. This last page is a total killer - that injured Dr Fate in the final panel really stuck with me.
