#3: Robot Battle V [ロボットバトルV] (Images from Zimmerit & auction listings) If you're not familiar with Ma.K or Yokoyama's work, then expect very grungy, muddy, worn down mecha and machines that feel like they came out of some alternate WWII. Hard to get a copy, sadly.
#4: Dragon's Heaven Easily the most recognized of the series, as this would later go on to become the Dragon's Heaven OVA in 1988. Starts with a fun multi-page Moebius/Arzach tribute, and filled with Kobayashi's uniquely weird but equally appealing mecha designs.
And that's all 4! Hope a few people found any of that interesting, they're really cool books and worth checking out! Here's a few more images, but otherwise I'll quit clogging up the timeline with this ?
Behold how small and meek Nausicaä DVD is next to the imposingly large and POWERFUL Nausicaä Laserdisc, this movie deserves no less
What I always really enjoy is getting to see the little "From the Desk of Toriyama" asides translated! Happy day to be a Toriyama fan
@valantainsart M-Meme history... what a cursed concept. But, these were all the ones I drew back in the past.
So here's my artistic journey, a drawing of a shrug from the beginning of the decade, and one from just a bit ago today. Perhaps I've gone backwards in some regards ?
I'm somehow only now learning about "Run, Melos! / 走れメロス!", an animated film from 1992 featuring animation greats like Hiroyuki Okiura and Satoshi Kon, that hasn't seen an official home release/official way to watch since Laserdisc... how is that possible??
What and odd collection of characters this is, but it was fun. Good warm-ups!
The king of "God I put so much time into this, why didn't I finish it" ?
Mecha cockpits are complicated to draw ? #WIP
Going to post those "Draw other's OC's in your style" thing as I finish them. First up is @DONDRRRART @DONDRRR and his Cassette Girl, since I was given an OFFICIAL EXCUSE™ to draw her again.
