he immediately gets first prize and says "thank you" which is as close as he comes to lying in the whole book. But then he IMMEDIATELY bursts into tears & explains! This is the book I've been using to excuse my characters murdering each other & then saying they didn't.
@philmcandrew sounds like you want current folks but I always liked Sydney Sime. He's dead now though, pretty sure.
@naamloosfornow This one is from a book called 'The Miner's Pale Children' that I think is out of print but they put it an anthology called 'Fables' that is still great. For poetry 'The Essential WS Merwin' is really nice too.
Got a cool old book French book called "De Monts En Merveilles" by Denise Basdevant but I really got it for the interiors by Jozef Wilkon
drew some skull stuff last year & just made a folder for them.

that ghost table drawing led to this little story, again pretty old now, but it's actually an idea I had in third grade. I've been trying to expand it into a book but it's tough to expand without ruining it - it makes me kind of emotional just the way it is.
"Ghost Goes In The Door" (an oldie now but still a goodie imo)
got reminded of this old one just now - I think most of my affection for it still comes from the pun on "legend". Happy almost Halloween you guys.
