#MilagroComic page 1 process. Digital layout, cleaned up and printed in blue line on 11x17" smooth Bristol, inked mostly with brush pens and some Microns, background with India ink and some white out spatter.
Space Monkey is a blend of Star Wars, Calvin and Hobbes, 90's cartoons and Space Brat (anybody else remember that book series?). Wacky, colorful, a little bit more weird and violent than most books aimed for kids. Sort of thing I loved in elementary school.
Taxidermy is a story that began as a Jhonen Vasquez inspired comic in junior high, became a feature film screenplay, then 7 minute student short film, then a short graphic novel that could be supplemented with other bizarre horror short stories.
Here are some sample pages from 2014 for the Job graphic novel. The idea is to expand on the Biblical text and explore who Job might have been. A warrior? Merchant? Priest? A husband and father? Would preserve supernatural elements from the scripture.
