After putting all of these drawings on top of one another in photoshop and adding characters digitally, I have a nice polished interior featuring Miguel and Heintz after a long day of work in outer space. In the finished pictur, I have some parts looking emptier to rest the eyes.
The next part of the space we are designing for the class is a kiosk. The kiosk can pretty much serve any purpose, so I decided to make mine a basic registry and ticket booth. I wanted the booth to emulate the bridge of the Corona: the character's "Mothership" in the film.
After ideating through sketches, we were also asked to make a 3D model of our kiosk. This would help make orthographic views and would later be used as an underlay to draw smaller forms and detail on top of. It is a handy shortcut since we already know how to do that step by hand
After going through the same process as I did with the traincar interior, I have a finished drawing of my Kiosk, a registry and pickup spot for souvenir helmets. Again, the figures were added digitally, after layering 4 of my pen drawings on top of one another.
The next step of our project was to destroy our kiosk, but to really pay attention to how the destruction occurred and how it would affect the surroundings. They also requested that we leave the space largely intact, to give more weight to the complexity of the destruction.

Here's a bit of work I did on some Echo Arena cosmetics with Scot Andreason and Hokeun Choi. It's a bit unlike the personal paintings I share here, but working to realize this 'Automaton' chassis was a lot of fun nonetheless. I'll show my side of the process from start to finish.
Hey guys, hope you're all doing well. I was feeling really good about some ongoing personal work, so I wanted to share sketches of a couple different characters from a couple different shorts. Its been very rewarding to practice storytelling while sketching with different styles.
I'll be tweeting out some work Ive done for my advanced perspective drawing class. The main project is to design a space based on a theme or previously established IP. For my theme, I chose Koji Morimoto's short 'Magnetic Rose.' I hope you enjoy seeing what I've done so far!! :)
We picked the cast iron/steam-punk theme from a bunch of other ideation sketches I'd done- I can't share any of those because they might appear in future seasons of Echo VR! But after Hokeun saw my sketch, he made a rough blockout for us to test in game, and I worked on refining.
