The next project involves a spiral staircase. Constructing these proved pretty difficult, but it was a fun challenge. The basic idea is to Cut a punch of pie slices out of an ellipse and pull them upwards. There are a lot of ways of going about this, so I made my own as well.
Our next step was to design a ride for the park, so I took influence from the scout pod from the original animation. I imagined the coaster would swerve between towering sculptures of space debris.
Hey guys, hope you're all doing well. I was feeling really good about some ongoing personal work, so I wanted to share sketches of a couple different characters from a couple different shorts. Its been very rewarding to practice storytelling while sketching with different styles.
Here's a bit of work I did on some Echo Arena cosmetics with Scot Andreason and Hokeun Choi. It's a bit unlike the personal paintings I share here, but working to realize this 'Automaton' chassis was a lot of fun nonetheless. I'll show my side of the process from start to finish.

I'll be tweeting out some work Ive done for my advanced perspective drawing class. The main project is to design a space based on a theme or previously established IP. For my theme, I chose Koji Morimoto's short 'Magnetic Rose.' I hope you enjoy seeing what I've done so far!! :)
We picked the cast iron/steam-punk theme from a bunch of other ideation sketches I'd done- I can't share any of those because they might appear in future seasons of Echo VR! But after Hokeun saw my sketch, he made a rough blockout for us to test in game, and I worked on refining.
The next part of the project had us create a gift shop, using curvilinear grids taken with fisheye lenses and panoramic photography as reference. I created the grids in illustrator by following the clear grid lines from the photos.
