3. Genshiken - Kio Shimoku. My forever bible. If you're hardcore otaku and you haven't read it, you're missing out. Original series focus on life of normal otaku life but Genshiken season 2 mainly focus on Fujyoshi life which is also great and funny.
Imperial Guards - Yuu Ito. ( who did character design for Gundam Orphans ) I mean who wouldn't like an elite military unit conducting its duties alongside sabertooth tigers ( called Cats ?) trained to assist their human ?? Sadly manga is out of print and it's rare find now ...
6. The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window - Yamashita Tomoko. Supernatural buddy mystery (+ slightly yaoish) Uhh but I mean I love all of her comics so it's hard to choice ( HER, Butter!! is also great too )... She's just so good with portraying human's core feeling.
7. Children of the sea - Daisuke Igarashi. Recently the animated movie came out so many might know, but make sure to check out the comic too ! He is so great at drawing natures and sea even though they are black and white. Don't miss out on his "Designs" comic series too!
8. Osen - Shota Kikuchi. I'm sad I never met anyone who read his work before. But his line works and a passion for Japanese culinary is so fascinating. His recent series " Ruri and King of Cooking" is such a gem too ✨ If anyone is interested in Japanese food history, this is it.
