I came across this and thought it was funny. A kind of reverse shadow puppet. (Not sure who made it though, there are several versions by different people it seems.)
Before Bluto, Popeye's main rival for Olive's affections was her first boyfriend, Ham Gravy. At one time one of the main characters of E. C. Segar's THIMBLE THEATRE, Ham would completely disappear soon after Popeye became the comic's star character in the early 1930s.
