I tried a few other things, always starting from the helmet. This time with a more Tokusatsu inspired look. I used my Black Panther helmet as a reference for the shape. Keeping in mind that the person who made the costume in the story thought about protection first.
Now that I had a few different ideas for the helmet/mask part, I focused on the suit as whole. Went through different stages : basic homemade suits, mascot one, a Spidey inspired one and the beta of the final version 👀
Next part was the hairstyle. I tried a few options : straight hair, braids, curls, undercut… And then when I liked what I had, I gave it more personality. The plain undercut was a bit boring 😅
I also took a bit of time to make her move around, to figure out how her shape would work on pages. The scarf was here as reminder of the tail for the mascot costume option and helped make her more dynamic.
HAIR !!
You know I love drawing hair, so I went a bit overboard 🤣
Combining my inking skills and my grayscale skills was definitely a good idea 🔥
WIP
Still got to change a few things on this one but it's getting there^^
