GM Editions release at 1pm CDT today. If you want the link early DM me These are the first and the final forms that I started The Embrace with. I wanted something that looked organic and H.R. Giger-esque as a base for figures I would build around.
Normally the eyes are something I put a large focus in my work, but this time I wanted to experiment more. And that's when I got the idea for masks and our personas. Since the masks (our personas) are living, I used the red strands again but drew them like cilia on a cell.
The last piece I worked on from that was "Silent Conversations". Its composition and use of the strands took inspiration from Barbara Hepworth's sculptures. While working on it I knew my next digital pieces were going to draw inspiration from sculptures as well.
There were many different stages and layers it went through along the process. I can be pretty indecisive about the colors I pick and that shows here lol
Like most of my physical paintings this one started out as a digital sketch, then was transferred onto canvas using a projector. I started it back in August after returning from NY.
"Born From a Wish" reserve has been set on This work is part of the "Floating Pixels" exhibition during Art Basel in Miami, by More info about the piece and show below
