The Black shield quest is a series of deeds Brunor had to accomplish while a damsel called Maledisant tests him by Insulting him every opportunity she gets. He not only overcame many trials but also never let the mockery pull him down, proving his valor and patience.

Knight of the Brunor the Black Traveled to Camelot wearing nothing but his dead father's armor. He vowed not to take it off until his father was avenged. He was mocked for his appearance but eventually proved his worth by fulfilling the cursed black shield quest.

Ywain is also known for beating the legendary Black knight of the fountain and being considered an equal and great companion to his cousin Gawain another knight of legend.

Knight of the Ywain of the Lion, Is fated to perform a great number of deeds to reclaim his ladies love. He eventually saves a Lion from a Dragon who, in turn help him vanquish many fearsome foes and achieve many more deeds...
