Of course a new year isn't a magical reset to time, but for myself I find it a nice mental placebo for a refresher and an opportunity to plan out/set new goals. It was a nice surprise to see that I actually accomplished one of my major resolutions from a couple of years back. 4

(1/2) when my older sister dressed up as Дед Мороз (Father Frost) for New Year's Eve. The disguise worked so well that I believed in Father Frost for quite a few years afterwards! In our family we celebrate New Year's rather than Christmas and Father Frost comes along with that. 4

(2/2) Drawing these comics makes me revisit a lot of old memories. Often childhood memories are much more about the sounds, smells and feelings of things rather than actual events. I enjoy drawing comics about moments like that. They're very meaningful to me. 3
