while nozomi and fukuda ended up coaching, shiba also did a similar job but his role was on the field as opposed to the sidelines. i think younger players need that kind of guidance as well since there's a diff perspective that comes from playing as opposed to watching
and i love how the chapter ultimately ends up with ashito dispossessing kuribayashi. so cool to see "thinking reeds" who shiba had guided play against each other. even if shiba says his work is done, these two are prime examples of his legacy living on
