Now to the final sketch. This process has 3 steps: lines, values, colors. It's very academic and definitely comes from my background as an oil painter. At this stage I often combine photos and draw over them to familiarize myself with the objects I'm gonna be drawing 1

Look what I found. Dream simulator pencil sketch. It's an ugly sketch lol but the more new tools I learn the more I understand that I'll always be a traditional artist using digital tools. Because I mostly ignore all the shortcuts and advantages of digital and just.. paint 😄 https://t.co/7PNuj4e2X1 1

I don't do real pixel art. I draw regular art and then turn it into pixel and work from there. So I needed to create a base for pixelization. Which means less detail than I would've included normally but also you can be less careful cause all the small imperfections will be lost 1

Step 1 is always sketching. I don't do a lot of it because I usually have a clear idea in my head before I start drawing, but sometimes I do have to make multiple sketches to refine that idea. Here it was to draw a space in a complicated perspective, kinda viewed from the ceiling 1

Brainstorming is over, now we move to actually drawing it all. And lineart is the longest stage. I can kinda eyeball even complex perspective and weird angles like this but I still always use perspective guides in Procreate for more precision and to speed up the process 1
