Catching Mikus...

For "celluloid", I actually played around quite a bit with her hairstyle before deciding on keeping it the way it usually is.

When making the Miku Balling set of images, I was listening to Kuoke's "VOCALOID SLAM JAM". A free Vocaloid remix album that remixes popular vocaloid songs with Quad City DJ's "Space Jam." If youre unaware, its quite a meme in the western sphere to mix that song with other songs

I also used the last render and I borrowed LAT's 2008 New Year wallpaper as Miku's posters. I think Animasa Miku would admire her peer's past and accomplishments. Here's to a suprise reveal of an Animasa Miku figure in the coming years, hm?

Also, I realized that this render conceptually is identical to a piece I made with Imite Miku in 2013. I guess this is what 10 years of progress looks like, huh? It's kinda funny how even after 10 years, I'm still interested in the same models and concepts.

I had a lot of fun making this one! I used the now defunct to find as many "weird" miku models as I could find so I could have her room look lively. I think it fits her to have built quite a collection of odd merch made in her image over the years.

I also made quite a few variants for it! It's a personal favorite of mine, so I thought I'd have fun. This was also the first time I thought about mixing KH40's shader with my main setup. It's quite fitting, don't you think?

I also wanted to redo some concepts I attempted in August. Specifically these images.

For I actually referenced this piece of art by KEI! When I was younger, this was my phone wallpaper background for quite some time, so this illustration means a lot to me. I naturally wanted to pay tribute to it in some way....

For con brio, the original lighting set up left much to desire in regards to the shading on Luka's chest, so I had to render it twice with lighting that complemented her shape more. I then edited them together in post

With that said, Lets start with proper bonuses!for Miku Chance I had an alternative background that I decided against using. It's not too different from the one I used, so I didn't think it was worth using.

Finally, I added a pair of cat ears and black gloves to the model. The former is directly borrowed from 6666AP's Cat Miku, and the gloves are inspired by ISAO style Miku! I think they're pretty stylish, and add just a bit of tomboy-ish flare to Miku.
