@gwenckatz Not all ukiyo-e artists focused on birds since bird art was a specific discipline originating in traditional Chinese formalization and tropes, but Hiroshige took it and ran with it so masterfully. His kingfisher dive is simply superb. 1

I watched a couple Illustrator tutorials yesterday since I know the vector tools but don't know that app well. My god shape builder is so awesome. Also much easier to stroke lines with interesting brushes. 1

@palaeoplushies Thanks! I like making the line art, so I'm very biased. I felt like lines were best since they help tell an easy to read story about the forms in the image, so I'm glad to hear that. 1
