I did quite a few exploratory sketches to settle on a composition with staging that I liked, and I'm including that one, plus the value comp and the color rough!
Now you can see me go too thick with the paint at first and scramble to bring back the structure from the drawing. Fun using oils for more personal work- love the edge variety you get with the medium!
I've been making little thumbnails in crayon and color pencil after work in my sketchbook. Making more tactile art and with such low commitment materials has honestly been something I've been finding really centering in the midst of these hazy days in CA
