Local freak discovers the joys of arson. A speculative painting inspired by how some modern birds will spread active fires to flush out prey, and extending that idea to azhdarchids like Quetzalcoatlus and possible hunting strategies. Also included the early initial color rough!

A few older dinosaur paintings. When I paint these animals I try to depict them exactly as that- animals existing within a time and place, showing speculative behaviors that help convey that they once lived and interacted with the world and were as tangible as any wildlife.

Watercolor Triceratops- birds perching on ceratopsian horns is always my jam.

Pretty straightforward approach- I began with a pencil sketch, blocked in an indication for my lighting, and then went ahead and took the piece as far as I could before using a small brush and color pencils to finish!
