4/ Other characters Estelle was designed to contrast with Aria's, and Madeline's look had to stand out in the school environment as an out of ordinary threat. Due to time constraint, some were developed with very few iterations or right on the spot. (5/6)
3/ Reverie Direction for Reverie's design was clear early on: elegant, intricate, and a little out of place. I wanted her to feel like a "pretty but mysterious intruder" in the school setting. The challenge was finding the right balance of intricacy. (4/6)
1/ Aria As the protagonist, Aria naturally had the most iterations. I wasn't sure at first whether she should be a student, visitor, or possibly even a knight. But once I wrapped up the storyline, she became a lone student, which shaped her final design. (2/6)
