this is not a hyper realistic tutorial but a mistake i often see (and used to make) is how feathers are layered in wings. after a certain point of stylization it doesn't matter but it really kicks me out of the moment to see realistic angel wings etc with backwards feathers lmao
the ffxiv main story is so funny, every single region you go to there are beast men acting unusual and you have to sleuth out why this is happening and every single time it's because of a primal and every single time the npcs are still like

I see even really high end artists do this thing with characters holding staves etc where their wrists bend at this super uncomfortable angle, I think because they just used their own closed fist as reference. Try a more dynamic wrap with the fingers!
