manga and anime scenes for comparison!!! ?vol 2 rly showed how earnest and selfless phos used to be and i love that. they riskily ventured into the sea to find a solution for shinsha and prioritized their wellbeing before their own without hesitation.....tears up a little..
they're rotting my brain..... remember when phos referred to shinsha as the one gem that they would "save for last" and ironically, shinsha ended up not being "saved" and didn't get persuaded to leave, but the last one to fight against and be broken down i hate it here!!!!
i think what cairn said here is so powerful within the current context... loneliness is a reoccurring theme in hnk and has been emphasized with phos; now we've reached a point where phos has to face their own solitude bc of their decisions + unjustified upbringing like k*ll me!!!
before i recognized ichikawa's art style, i saw these iconic ch 36 scenes and thought it was fan art of the anime because this scene was just so... YOU KNOW? after digesting this part, i was enlightened.. also love how routine their nightly conversations were ugh i........
see you again!
hnk 92 closure and forgiveness
hnk spoilers / it dawned on me that shinsha and phos have never physically touched each other within the story so far... their only contact was during their last fight and it makes me sad!!! all of their close interactions were... barely... touching... oh that yearning potential
hnk spoilers ⚠️ remembering how this ch 52 scene made me so crazy🧍 the sense of urgency in shinsha's tone and their unusual behavior of wanting to be involved with another gem was so perplexing... shinsha lost composure for phos' sake and chose to give phos up in the end...🥲 ok

again thinking rly hard about phos' impulsive decision to take the risk of never returning from the sea and defying adamant's warnings to fulfill their promise in finding meaningful work for shinsha. the scenes of the sea feel so alluring and ominous now with context™ 🧍
