Today I read a comic about a pack of supervillains who killed off all the good guys and took over the world. My goodness. Who ever heard of such a thing? Here begins a thread on Mark Waid and Barry Kitson's EMPIRE & Mark Millar and JG Jones' WANTED
Both series play out among the all-powerful ruling class of villains who now run the world, with a conspiracy weaving through them that drives the bulk of the plot. Both feature a horny gun-slinging new recruit as a POV character - their initiations both have a dark, culty vibe
But I still find it deeply interesting that for a brief moment in the middle of W's first term, when their respective voices were really starting to crystallize, Waid and Millar ended up writing the same book. More or less.
