    Peeve talk: I'm very done with this type of joke - the post-Whedon lampshade quip. You and I know fighting crime in a costume isn't real-world normal, that's a given, but it IS normal in their world. Like, Gordon's standing next to a literal Bat Signal, he's onboard with this

    All I'm saying is it pays off to dig a little deeper into how a character with a full internal life would actually see the world they're in, if only so that I can read a single cape comic that doesn't tell this exact joke
