STOMPED is informed by a lifelong love of monsters, owing partly to seeing Gremlins & Star Wars at a young age. The Goosebumps and Crestwood Monster books introduced me to even more monsters. In 1st grade I got in trouble for drawing Predator holding a skull on my homework. 4

An evolution of this character called Unit-X who was the defective clone of a Goku ripoff I used to draw. I think this doodle version of Master Peace's "Unit-X" I did is actually a little stronger design than the finished War Master. 3

The original "Chunk" was more obviously Hulkish. The mullet was inspired by a friend of mine who got really into fitness after joining the wrestling team. Hunk soon lost the mullet and became the more suave Antonio Banderas inspired beefcake he is today. 2
