why can't character design work like this

I sketched a little comic about my OCs Molly and Cedrik and how they met! Molly helped organizing the firework tho honor the goddess' decending, who snuck out to watch it.

Cedrik's pronouns are he/they He has to fake being a goddess and started to protest after their encounter. Molly gave him the name "Cedrik" since he had no other title except "goddess" or "the sheep"
