80s shojo manga CIPHER has a scene where the love interest seems to be framed as a dead lover the protagonist is sadly remembering when in reality all that's happening is ~*romantic flossing*~
CIPHER (which takes places in the U.S.) has a scene of anise's grandma sharing pictures of her idols (no way she would be that old already in the 80s if she was a young fangirl around the 50s/60s though lol but then again, that's standard grandma design)
it seems to me that we do not talk enough about vintage horror shojo
japanese girl gangs by Fumiaki Fukuda, 1979
the way hayashi has drawn eiji recently. .. art
doting husband eiji is powerful content!
the way riyoko ikeda's art evolution perfectly captures the style evolution of her medium throughout the 70s-90s
i for one cannot ignore the power of akane's very cute and very soft dreses
love how lum looks like she's floating in a shojo-esque dreamy atmosphere here
