This is really funny when you consider Tsutomu Nihei, an actual Japanese manga artist (you might know him for the excellent Blame!) did a Wolverine story once, and it had no stereotypical "Japanese" elements. Just Wolverine time traveling and stuff.
One thing I don't think a lot of people talk about is how Walt considered Sleeping Beauty to be his finest work because his animation team really pushed their hardest to make the film resemble medieval art.Something I wish more animated works did.
