the more i think about it the more im sure that laios' father never directly said anything critical like this to him, and this nightmare is all about his own feelings of inadequacy. the nightmare is using his parents as a mouthpiece to tell laios his own worries about himself

tbh my favorite part of dungeon meshi is that this panel, izutsumi is clearly referencing this crying cat meme, which came from a picture of my cat inkky. :) inkky passed away in 2020 but tbh i feel a special attachment to izutsumi because of this one panel, like...thats my girl
