There are many ways to do this/similar but here's one of the ways I handle blocking out chunks of flowy hair for a sketch bc sometimes lots of lines makes it hard to see where the positive/negative space is and can result in weird clumps. It's how I did miku's hair's base sketch
bruh what happened between my rough sketch and my cleaned up color sketch why are my roughs getting uglier as I get older
