The thing about Blanche that was so impressive to me was his synthesis of influences outside of the pulps and comics. Brueghel, Bosch, and pre-Faeries Froud seemed most evident. It wasn't a dry exercise in namedropping either. His influences added real depth
Drawing over the blocked in model to think about details. Ideally I like to overdo things just a little at this stage then back them off where it helps the visual flow
I have a lot to do but the lack of time spent on personal work has driven me a little crazy. I'm going to try and take today to finish this before I return to more serious commitments
Kind of a walking turret. Pretty happy with it though I might ditch the cutout for the aux generator on the cheek. Shading might tie it together though
I have most of the underlying form figured out but here's where I both add details but also delete them to either soften or accentuate forms. For example I'll probably lose the bolt and rib detail on the cooling fan ring
