I like this finish but I think an ink rather than a digital sketch is better for invention.I draw better with mechanical pencil but ballpoint is freer and bolder.Could be a good test to render from an ink sketch to see if the shapes resolve well
The Wolverine should clean up nice when it's done.I'm exploring this as an exercise in taking something classic and trying to update it while remaining respectful of the original design and aesthetic
