Some of my favorite development time on Arlo the Alligator Boy was spent creating style guides. It really helped the animators, and also allowed me to check my own work to make sure the characters were constructed in a way that makes sense! Waiter by @ChuChuBoogie

Arlo was the most comprehensive in terms of construction. He's the main character and we obviously wanted to build him in a way that was easy for the animators to move him. He's built from very simple shapes!

Tony was pretty fun, too. Demystifying his face and trying to compensate for "float" forced me to think more about head construction and facial landmarks.

I think the most important thing when it comes to design is shape. Relating character construction to normal items or basic shapes really helps people remember how to draw them on model. Keeping things focused is important too, we were worried about float on Bertie's face too.

While Bertie is my favorite design, Edmee was a close second.
