I guess this isn't really a bad take, but I was thinking about it earlier. I miss when Fossil Pokemon were based off ancient lesser known animals (like marine invertebrates) instead of dinosaurs. Plenty of regular Pokemon look like dinosaurs, so it feels redundant.
Same with Johnny Joestar. Calling him Jonathan Joestar sounds British, but changing that to Johnny sounds so 19th century Irish immigrant's kid it actually hurts.
Consider this, the powerful children of two of the strongest people on the planet either respect him or straight up see him as an ally. And I think when Big Mom is finally taken out for good, Katakuri will fight by Luffy's side.
If I can give writers any advice about writing gay characters, it's that making them interesting to watch is the best counter to anything "problematic"
