DIVINE LIGHT SEVEREDREVERTING UNCOMMITTED CHANGESREBOOTING FROM LOCAL COPYnah just a couple more sketches from a meetingthinking about crates and mcguffins as soft sell narrative tools
Jan Eisenloeffel clock from 1908 or after and Frank Lloyd Wright's Ennis House. I try not be an art history bore, but these pieces were a sort of 'aha' moment for me on the transition between what we later knew as Art Nouveau and Art Deco. There wasn't a clear break
I like the end result well enough but I think I'd prefer to have designs like this end in 3d models rather than paintings. I want them to move and do things
A couple little sketches warming up. Springer gas grenade launcher is meh but I like that weird forward mounting for the reflex sight. Also found myself thinking about sci fi crates and greebling. I think that detailing for effect works more believably with vague purpose in mind
2014-16 process. Helpful to be able to get the designers proxy models at the rough stage for daily builds immediately after getting AD signoff but still be able to render it fully if needed for that sweet sweet VC pitch money
2015. Like the idea but the design lacks visual focus. The cable laying priapism is hilarious in hindsight. Might redo and go to 3D early w/tracks on the lower legs to check fit
I should finish these but my workflow has also changed since I made them. Quandary but a potentially interesting one. Also realizing I really prefer my Intuos3 to a tablet display (colors resolution posture etc.)
